En dag på museum / A day at museums

Today I had kind of a cultural day. First I met my mom and aunt to visit the exhibition ”Royal wedding dresses 1976-2015” at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. If you borrowed an audio guide you got to hear a lot of interesting facts about the dresses and also about the traditions and etiquette behind royal weddings. It was amazing to be able to get so close to the dresses, because you could then see all the details you couldn’t see when they showed the weddings on TV. What crafmanships!

Since I was there, at the palace, I took my time to visit the representation floors, the Tre Kronor museum and the Treasury, before I continued to the next museum: Sven-Harry’s art museum. There I met my guide colleague Jessica to see the exhibition about Axel Sjöberg’s paintings. He lived 1866-1950 and spent a lot of time in the Stockholm archipelago, for example on Sandhamn (where there is a statue of him), which made the visit even more interesting for us since we have guided tours there. Except for the paintings there were also some photos showing every day life in the archipelago. If you visit the art museum, which I really recommend, don’t miss out on the roof terrace with its sculptures and fantastic view.
